Arndrea Waters King, as the President of the Drum Major Institute, is dedicated to advancing Dr. King's vision of a world free of racism, poverty, and violence. Founded in 1961, the Institute carries forward the legacy of radical nonviolence, democratizing this vision for all people. Through her leadership, DMI collaborates with leaders and organizations to find common-sense solutions to pressing issues, inspiring individuals to embrace their role in building the beloved community and promoting peace, justice, and equity for all.

Realize the Dream

Arndrea Waters King plays a pivotal role as a co-founder of Realize the Dream, a movement focused on achieving Martin Luther King Jr.'s vision through impactful community service. Partnering with the Martin Luther King III Foundation and Legacy+, she helps lead efforts to mobilize NGOs nationwide, aiming to accumulate 100 million hours of service by 2029. Her leadership fosters collaboration with educational partners and a vast network of teachers, ensuring broad engagement and sustainable impact across all 50 states.
