Drum Major Coalition

The Drum Major Institute (DMI) Coalition is an organization focused on promoting social equity and justice through various initiatives and advocacy efforts. It was originally founded as the Drum Major Foundation in 1961 by Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. and his wife, Coretta Scott King. The institute works on issues such as economic fairness, civil rights, and democratic participation. They aim to continue Dr. King's legacy by addressing systemic inequalities and promoting policies that uplift marginalized communities.

"Power properly understood is nothing but the ability to achieve purpose. It is the strength required to bring about social, political and economic change."- Martin Luther King, Jr.
